It is with great sadness I have to advise that Member and Loch angler John Harley sadly passed away suddenly on 17th January.
In contacting the Association John’s Wife Louise touchingly expressed John and his late Father’s deep love of angling and of the Loch over the years.
“He was a keen and devoted fisherman on the loch, trawling for salmon. For the last 25 years he trawled from Ardlui to Inversnaid in his Jeanneau boat.
Prior to that he came across from Inveruglas and fished up and down the east side of the loch since he was a young boy, back in 70’s, on his own and sometimes with his father, William, also a member, until he passed away in 2000.

They both have so much history fishing the loch and both obtained immense pleasure and enjoyment- not always getting regular catches but when they did it made them so very happy for days & weeks afterwards.
They respected the work the Association carried out very much and loved meeting up for the Annual Meetings at the Partick Burgh Halls. Please keep up all the good work in their memory.
Kindest Regards,
Louise Harley.
(Former wife of John)
I am sure that I speak on behalf of all of our members in offering Louise our sincere condolences for the passing of John.
