Welcome news is that Scotland’s First Minister has confirmed last week that any agreed components of Phase 1 relaxation of restrictions will be in force
from Friday 29th. Assuming that Fishing is one of the Phase 1 components to be relaxed is announced then there can be no fishing permitted until Friday 29th.
The Lomond system will therefore remain suspended on Thursday 28th May to all forms of angling. We will continue to monitor announcements concerning this and provide updates accordingly via our website and Facebook page including any special measures that will be required in order to support a safe resumption of angling if and when restrictions are eased by the Scottish Government.Until such times as restrictions are eased then the Scottish Government instructions clearly require all of us to continue to remain at home wherever possible, with some defined exceptions. Accordingly we strongly advise anglers not to travel to the Lomond system and therefore avoid unnecessary exposure or spread of the virus to themselves and others, The whole fishery is closed at this time. Our bailiffs continue to monitor the system providing on the ground protection, enforcement and surveillance of the waters and fishery environment. Any Persons found fishing will be dealt with under the appropriate fisheries enforcement legislation.
